Pequignet Royale Paris Icy Blue: A New Shade of Elegance for the French Watch Manufacture
Pequignet has expanded its Royale Paris collection with the introduction of a new colorway: the Royale Paris Icy Blue. This latest iteration aims to solidify Pequignet’s position as a prominent French watch manufacturer, building upon the recent redesign of the collection and the adoption of a contemporary 39.5mm case size.
Case and Design
The Royale Paris Icy Blue maintains the same case dimensions as its predecessors, measuring 39.5mm in diameter and 11.5mm in thickness. The case is crafted from stainless steel, featuring a combination of polished and satin-brushed surfaces. Distinctive extended lugs, a slim bezel secured with screws, and a domed glassbox sapphire crystal complete the design. A moon phase corrector is integrated at 8:30, and the watch offers water resistance up to 50 meters.
Icy Blue Dial
The defining feature of this new model is its icy blue dial. This cool, metallic hue is intended to evoke the winter light over the Jura mountains surrounding Pequignet’s Morteau manufacture. The color enhances the dial’s textured surface, which combines a grained texture, sandblasted engravings, and a fluted small seconds subdial at 3:30. The asymmetrical layout, a signature element of the Royale Paris, remains, with the power reserve indicator at 8 o’clock and a centrally positioned day-date window.
Moon Phase and Hands
At 6 o’clock, a double moon phase display showcases both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. The moons are diamond-polished to create a subtle sparkle against the icy blue backdrop. Polished steel hour and minute hands, filled with blue-emission Super-LumiNova, provide contrast and ensure readability in various lighting conditions.
Calibre Royal Movement
The Royale Paris Icy Blue is powered by the Calibre Royal, Pequignet’s flagship in-house automatic movement. Developed and manufactured in Morteau, with components sourced from within an 80km radius, the Calibre Royal integrates all complications onto a single plate. It delivers an impressive 96-hour power reserve. The movement is visible through a sapphire caseback, revealing a large balance wheel with compensation screws, a decorated oscillating weight, and finishing that reflects the manufacture’s commitment to quality.
Strap and Availability
The watch is paired with an interchangeable pearl-grey nubuck leather strap and a folding clasp. The Royale Paris Icy Blue will be available as a permanent edition starting in April 2026, priced at EUR 8,000 (including VAT). Further details can be found at pequignet.com.
