If a week frees up in your diary, know that this country renowned for its gentle way of life will (almost) always welcome you under the sun.

This destination has already been voted the best of the year 2026, and this choice is based on very concrete arguments. The climate is stable, the cultural life intense and the landscapes varied enough to give the impression of changing scenery without changing country. We can go from a bustling coastline to immense natural spaces, then to metropolises that almost never sleep. This choice is that of Travel + Leisure – which has already crowned Gordes as the most beautiful village in the world – and makes us want to pack our bags as quickly as possible.

The country’s energy is first found on the coast, where certain beaches have become real international references. There are long stretches of sand, busy promenades and a neighborhood life oriented towards the sea. Residents come there to play sports with their feet in the sand, meet friends over a drink or simply spend time outside. And visitors quickly integrate into this very natural rhythm. Further away, other beaches offer a calmer setting, surrounded by reliefs and vegetation, appreciated by those who want to surf, paddle or get away from the large crowds.

Inside the territory, the landscape changes again with tropical forests, immense rivers, waterfalls and very sparsely inhabited areas. Large cities play another role, with very dense business districts, active artistic scenes and a well-established nightlife, creating an important contrast with natural spaces. Indeed, it is indeed Brazil which presents itself today as the best destination for the year 2026.

Furthermore, popular culture occupies a central place throughout the year. The most famous carnival thus transforms Rio de Janeiro into a giant stage, with parades of dance and music schools in an enclosure built for the event. But the celebration goes far beyond the official framework and extends into the streets, where residents and visitors participate together.

In the south, Blumenau hosts a large Oktoberfest, a legacy of European immigration still visible in the architecture and certain traditions. Note that the cuisine also changes depending on the region, between seafood, cassava-based recipes and stews, served both in renowned restaurants and in unpretentious places.

From France, the plane journey between Paris and Rio takes around 11.5 hours non-stop, but the variety of landscapes, cultural intensity and constant heat are definitely worth the detour. Because, yes, the country’s major asset is its weather: on average, Brazil benefits from 2,200 to 3,000 hours of sunshine per year! Which corresponds to approximately 200 to 280 days of sunshine depending on the area. In detail, the thermometer displays average annual temperatures between 26°C to 28°C in the hottest part of the country.
