PGA TOUR Launches TOURCAST Range at THE PLAYERS Championship
The PGA TOUR is debuting TOURCAST Range, an interactive 3D experience designed to give fans deeper insights into player range sessions. Available on PGATOUR.COM and the PGA TOUR app, the feature will be live during THE PLAYERS Championship this week at TPC Sawgrass.
Deeper Insights into Player Warm-Ups
TOURCAST Range utilizes ShotLink powered by CDW capabilities to track every swing taken by players on the range. Fans will have access to detailed metrics including carry distance, ball speed, apex, curve, and launch and landing angles. Each shot will be displayed with a 3D trace and a full scatterplot, providing a comprehensive visual representation of the player’s practice session.
The system similarly tracks total balls hit, longest drive, and provides a distance breakdown to illustrate how players structure their warm-up routines.
Expansion Beyond THE PLAYERS Championship
Even as launching at THE PLAYERS, TOURCAST Range will expand to all six remaining Signature Events, as well as the FedExCup Playoffs. Sessions will be recorded from Monday through Sunday of each tournament and archived, allowing fans to revisit player sessions throughout the season. Tournament and year-to-date ShotLink stats will also be incorporated to provide a broader view of player performance.
Part of the PGA TOUR’s Fan Forward Initiative
The introduction of TOURCAST Range is part of the PGA TOUR’s ongoing Fan Forward initiative, which aims to enhance the fan experience by providing greater access and insight into the game. The TOUR states that this innovation offers a recent way to explore a previously unavailable aspect of player preparation.
Users can access TOURCAST Range through the leaderboard page on PGATOUR.COM and the PGA TOUR app.
