PM Modi Calls Sharad Pawar to Enquire About Health After Hospital Discharge

Sharad Pawar discharged from Pune hospital after treatment for pleuritic chest pain

Prime Minister Modi called up Pawar Saheb this morning to enquire about his health. He spoke with great warmth and respect and suggested that Pawar Saheb take complete rest, Vitthal Maniyar, a close associate of Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar) chief Sharad Pawar, told reporters in Pune on Wednesday.

The 85-year-old veteran politician left Ruby Hall Clinic in Pune on Wednesday morning after spending two days under medical observation, according to The Times of India. Pawar was admitted to the private hospital on Monday morning following a bout of cough and complaints of pleuritic pain, which causes sharp chest discomfort that typically worsens when a person breathes, coughs, or sneezes.

Medical assessment and hospital discharge at Ruby Hall Clinic

Doctors confirmed that Pawar remained stable throughout his two-day hospital stay. Dr Purvez K Grant, chief cardiologist, chairman, and managing trustee of Ruby Hall Clinic, stated that the Nationalist Congress Party veteran underwent a general health check-up and medical observation.

Sharad Pawar has been discharged from the hospital today. He is stable and doing well. He will be travelling directly from the hospital to his residence in Mumbai, Dr Grant said in an official statement reported by The Times of India.

Prior to his admission, Pawar had completed a two-day visit to drought-affected areas, which senior party leader Ankush Kakade attributed to physical exertion. His daughter, Baramati Member of Parliament and NCP (SP) working president Supriya Sule, posted updates on X during his hospital stay to inform the public that her father’s health parameters remained stable while undergoing medical tests, as noted by NDTV.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi calls recovering leader

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Pawar by telephone on Wednesday morning to check on his recovery, advising the veteran leader to focus entirely on his health and step back from daily political work, according to ThePrint.

The PM told Pawar Saheb that Supriya is now ready and that he, along with Supriya, will look after the country, while Pawar should focus on his health, Maniyar told the media, describing the conversation.

Pawar thanked the prime minister for his phone call and expressed confidence that party colleagues were handling national and local matters, assuring Modi that he would follow medical advice and take complete rest.
