PM Shehbaz Sharif arrives in Türkiye on third leg of tri-nation tour Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Antalya, Türkiye on Thursday, April 16, 2026, marking the third leg of his tri-nation tour following visits to Saudi Arabia and Qatar. He was received at the airport by Antalya Governor Hulusi Şahin, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Türkiye Yousaf Junaid, and senior diplomatic officials. During his visit, the Prime Minister is scheduled to attend the fifth Antalya Diplomacy Forum, where he will participate in a leaders’ panel and outline Pakistan’s perspective on key regional and global issues. He is too expected to hold bilateral meetings with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and other international leaders on the sidelines of the forum. Earlier in Doha, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a warm and cordial meeting with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at the Amiri Diwan. The leaders discussed the latest regional and international developments, particularly in the Middle East. The Emir welcomed the Prime Minister and expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s role in supporting efforts to de-escalate tensions and promote diplomatic dialogue in the region. The Pakistani delegation accompanying the Prime Minister includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi, and the Prime Minister’s spokesperson for international media, Mosharraf Zaidi. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif described Türkiye as his “second home” and expressed his anticipation for meaningful engagements with fellow leaders at the forum. He emphasized the importance of working together to address shared challenges and promote regional stability.
