Pokémon GO April 2026 Community Day: Everything You Demand to Know About Tinkatink

Get your hammers ready, Trainers. Pokémon GO has announced that Tinkatink, the Metalsmith Pokémon, will take center stage for the April 2026 Community Day. Whether you’re hunting for a rare Shiny or looking to bolster your combat roster with a powerful new attacker, this event offers several high-value opportunities to upgrade your collection.

Event Schedule and Core Details

The April Community Day takes place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. To 5:00 p.m. Local time. During this three-hour window, Tinkatink will appear much more frequently in the wild.

Trainers should keep a close eye on their encounters, as there is a chance to discover a Shiny Tinkatink or one featuring a Special Background during the event.

Unlock the Power of Gigaton Hammer

The primary draw for competitive players is the event’s exclusive move. If you evolve Tinkatuff (the evolution of Tinkatink) during the event—or within four hours after it ends—you’ll receive a Tinkaton that knows the Charged Attack Gigaton Hammer.

This Steel-type move provides significant power across different game modes:

  • Trainer Battles: 130 power
  • Gyms and Raids: 300 power

Event Bonuses and Lure Mechanics

Niantic is providing a variety of bonuses to help Trainers maximize their gains. These are split between the core event window and an extended bonus period.

Event Bonuses and Lure Mechanics

Core Event Bonuses (2:00 p.m. To 5:00 p.m.)

  • Catching Rewards: 2× Catch Candy and 3× Catch Stardust.
  • Candy XL: Trainers level 31 and above have a 2× chance to receive Candy XL from catches.
  • Incense: Activated Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) will last for three hours.

Extended Bonuses (2:00 p.m. To 9:00 p.m.)

Several perks extend beyond the main three-hour window, lasting until 9:00 p.m. Local time:

  • Lure Modules: Regular Lure Modules will last for one hour. Tinkatink will have a very high chance of appearing at PokéStops with active regular Lures, and these encounters may still be Shiny or have a Special Background.
  • Trading: Trainers can make one additional Special Trade (for a maximum of two in the day), and all trades will require 50% less Stardust.

Exclusive Special Research

For US$1.99 (or local equivalent), Trainers can purchase a Community Day-exclusive Special Research ticket. This research provides additional rewards, including:

  • Three encounters with Tinkatink that have a Special Background.
  • Additional Tinkatink encounters.
  • One Premium Battle Pass.
  • One Rare Candy XL.

Tickets can be purchased in the in-game shop and gifted to friends who have reached a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher. Note that this specific Special Research does not include a story or an in-game medal.

Additional Features: Photobombs

Adding a layer of discovery to the day, Trainers can use the AR Photo feature. By taking snapshots during the event, you may be “photobombed” by a wild Tinkatink for a surprise encounter.
