Ugandan Official Commended for Boosting Policy Analyst Capacity

Recent remarks highlight the ongoing efforts to strengthen Uganda’s policy analysis capabilities, with praise directed towards Hajji Yunus Kakande, secretary Office of the President, and the Department of Policy Progress and Capacity Building. The comments underscore the critical role policy analysts play in effective governance and service delivery within the country.
Recognition of Leadership and Capacity Building
During a recent forum, officials lauded Hajji Yunus Kakande for his leadership in organizing initiatives aimed at developing the policy analyst cadre. “[I’m] confident that in his able hands, the future of the policy analyst cadre can grow brighter by the day,” a speaker stated.
The Department of Policy Development and Capacity Building also received acknowledgement for its “continuous stewardship and capacity building efforts” wich have considerably supported both policy analysts and the broader public policy function within the ugandan government. This ongoing support is seen as vital for improving the quality and impact of government policies.
Policy analysts as Key to Service delivery
Mr. mulengani emphasized the importance of policy analysts, describing them as “heroes whose work is pivotal in policy management and ensuring effective service delivery to the people of Uganda.” He urged them to maintain their “passion and commitment” to their work, stressing that dedication is key to continued success in public service.
