Jakarta –
Even though it is considered a newcomer, it is quite popular in Indonesia. The proof is that Polytron car sales have surpassed several brands from Japan to China.
Polytron just offers one electric car in Indonesia. Even so, sales are an achievement in themselves. As a newcomer, Polytron can prove that its first car can compete. Referring to wholesale sales data released by the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo), throughout 2025 Polytron will send 455 units of its cars to dealers. Meanwhile, at retail (from dealers to consumers), sales were recorded at 353 units. This achievement makes Polytron superior to several Japanese and Chinese brands.

Entering 2026, wholesale distribution will reach 82 units. However, retail sales were only 12 units. Referring to wholesale data, this achievement places Polytron in 25th position as the best-selling car. This original Indonesian brand is superior to DFSK, Citroen, BAIC, Lexus, Ford, Mini, Changan, Nissan, Subaru, Volkswagen and Audi. But if you look at retail sales, Polytron is only in 39th position, just above Volvo, Changan and Audi.
So far, Polytron only has one electric car which is presented in two variants, namely G3+ and G3. The two electric cars were assembled at a facility owned by PT Handal Indonesia Motor in Purwakarta, West Java. In January 2026, Polytron was recorded as producing 154 units. Last year, the total number of cars produced by Polytron reached 531 units.
Polytron’s first car is the result of collaboration with Skyworth K EV. Polytron’s first electric car has quite large dimensions: length 4,720 millimeters (mm), width 1,908 mm, height 1,696 mm, and axle distance from front to rear of 2,800 mm.
With wide dimensions, this car has a capacity of up to 1,141 liters and is equipped with an Electronic Tail Gate with Kick Sensor. Regarding capabilities, the two variants have a range of 402 kilometers (CLTC). The top speed is 150 km/h. On paper, you can run from zero to 100 km per hour in 9.6 seconds. The car carries a Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) battery with a capacity of 51,916 kWh and a power of 150 kW. Meanwhile the torque is 320 Nm, typical of electric cars which have instant acceleration.
As for the two variants offered, the difference lies in their features. The G3 variant has 19 inch rims, while the G3+ is equipped with 20 inch wheels. Another difference is the recharge time. Polytron G3 and G3+ are said to both take < (less than) 35 minutes from 20 to 70 percent using DC current. Only when recharging with AC current does it take <3.5 hours for the G3+ variant while the G3 takes even longer.
The Polytron G3+ is equipped with smartphone connectivity; Polytron EV 4W which can find out battery status, remote start/stop, find my car, air condition control, remote door lock/unlock, and seat preset. Polytron is also equipped with ADAS level 2 features to support safety. The ADAS feature consists of 14 functions including auto parking assistance, autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, safe exit warning, blind spot detection, and auto brake hold.
