Jakarta –
After ending in December last year, electric motor subsidies are still hanging today. As a result, related producers must sincerely sell electric motorcycles this year.
One of the producers who experienced a direct impact of the postponement of electric motor subsidies is Polytron. They, as new players, have to fight even harder to market their products in Indonesia.

“We still have to sell continuously. If there is a decline in sales, there must be a subsidy before, now there is no,” said Ilman Fachrian as Head of Product EV 2W Polytron Indonesia when met in Kemanggisan, West Jakarta, Friday (8/15).
When we asked the percentage of the decline, Ilman did not want to talk. He only revealed, the figure was really dropped drastically compared to last year.
“Later (the number), because it hasn’t been completed this year. But clearly, (the decline) is big. It feels, it must be felt,” he said.

Interestingly, instead of waiting for the government’s decision, Polytron actually provides independent subsidies for its consumers in Indonesia. While the amount is the same as the government program, which is Rp. 7 million/unit.
“Hopefully, with the same number of Polytron subsidies, let alone no need to bother using the ‘One Motorcycle KTP’ scheme, we hope that we can move to the same number again,” he said.
Ilman emphasized that his party had not been invited to a government discussion about the possibility of being held again an electric motor subsidy. He and his team also did not want to expect much to stakeholders.
“Polytron if it has been plungled into a business, in this case an electric motor, it will definitely commit. So let us take care of in the kitchen, we try our products to meet the needs of consumers. We just need to wait for consumers’ responses,” he said.
For the record, the electric motor subsidy that was valid last year allows consumers to get a discount of Rp. 7 million/unit. According to news circulating, the policy will continue this month. However, until now, there has been no official announcement.
