President Prabowo Addresses Workers on May Day in Jakarta
President Prabowo Subianto marked International Workers’ Day, May 1, 2026, by joining a rally at the National Monument (Monas) in Central Jakarta. The President greeted workers from the presidential car, demonstrating his engagement with labor concerns.

The event drew significant crowds, with workers representing various labor unions, including KSPSI, SPMI, KSPN, FSPMI, and SPSI. Attendees displayed flags representing their respective organizations at the Monas area, which was crowded with workers beginning at 6:00 AM local time.
Government Officials in Attendance
Several members of President Prabowo’s cabinet attended the May Day event, including Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Manpower Yassierli, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. Key legislative figures were also present, such as MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani, DPR Deputy Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. KKSPSI President Andi Gani Nena Wea and Minister of Environment and Forestry Jumhur Hidayat participated in the commemoration.
This marks the second consecutive year President Prabowo has attended the May Day rally at Monas, continuing a practice begun in 2025.
