Jakarta, CNN Indonesia – President Prabowo Subianto has emphasized that his overseas working visits are primarily focused on safeguarding the interests of the Indonesian people, particularly in maintaining and expanding employment opportunities.
“I went on a trip (overseas work visit) to look after my people. To look after what? Jobs,” Prabowo stated recently, according to the Ministry of State Secretariat’s Instagram account (@kemensetneg.ri) on Thursday, March 26th.
Prabowo explained that while ministers fulfill their duties, his direct presence is often necessary for strategic matters, allowing him to lobby and reach important agreements with international partners.

“If I don’t lobby, of course the ministers do the work, but in the end I have to come. There are important things that have to be dealt with directly,” he said.
Prabowo as well stressed the importance of building a strong bargaining position in every international relationship to protect Indonesia’s national interests amidst the current global dynamics.
“In every relationship there must be a bargaining position, it must be from a position of strength. So, that’s what we are working on now,” Prabowo stated.
