President Prabowo Subianto Focuses on Food and Energy Security, Eid Preparations in Cabinet Meetings

Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto convened a series of limited cabinet meetings with key Red and White Cabinet ministers at his residence in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Monday, March 9, 2026. Discussions centered on national strategic initiatives, including bolstering food and energy self-sufficiency, and ensuring readiness for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr celebrations.

Strategic Focus on Self-Sufficiency

According to Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, the meetings prioritized progress and evaluation of programs aimed at achieving food and energy independence for Indonesia. “This strategic meeting is focused on the government’s two main agendas, namely progress on self-sufficiency, evaluating program development. Food self-sufficiency and energy and oil self-sufficiency,” Wijaya stated as reported by PrabowoSubianto.com.

Eid al-Fitr Preparations Underway

Preparations for Eid al-Fitr 2026 were also a key topic, with a focus on guaranteeing the availability of essential goods, particularly food supplies and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). The government is working to ensure adequate stocks are available nationwide ahead of the holiday.

Bridge Inauguration

In addition to the cabinet meetings, President Prabowo Subianto also inaugurated 218 bridges – consisting of 77 bailey bridges, 59 aramco bridges, and 82 pioneer bridges – across the Indonesian archipelago on March 9, 2026. He highlighted the rapid construction timeframe of just 2.5 months as an “extraordinary achievement” as shown on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel.

“With bismillah, this afternoon, Monday 9 March 2026, I Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, hereby inaugurate 77 bailey bridges, 59 aramco bridges and 82 pioneer bridges,” Prabowo stated during the inauguration ceremony.
