Prabowo Subianto Hosts Indonesian Leaders at Merdeka Palace

Jakarta, Indonesia – President Prabowo Subianto convened a meeting at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday evening, March 3, 2026, bringing together former Indonesian presidents and vice presidents, as well as key political figures. The gathering aimed to foster dialogue and exchange perspectives, according to Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

Among those present were former Presidents Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) and Joko Widodo (Jokowi), along with former Vice Presidents Jusuf Kalla, Ma’ruf Amin, and Boediono. Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka similarly attended the meeting. President Prabowo personally greeted SBY upon his arrival at the palace.

Purpose of the Meeting

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that President Prabowo invited the former leaders and chairmen of political parties to socialize and exchange views. “The President wants to exchange views with these figures,” Wijaya explained. The meeting also included former Ministers of Foreign Affairs and chairmen of political parties represented in Parliament.

Jusuf Kalla arrived at approximately 7:02 PM local time (19:02 WIB), followed by Ma’ruf Amin at 7:09 PM (19:09 WIB). Gibran Rakabuming Raka arrived at 7:15 PM (19:15 WIB), and Jokowi at 7:20 PM (19:20 WIB). SBY arrived shortly after, at 7:24 PM (19:24 WIB), and Boediono at 7:27 PM (19:27 WIB).

Notable Absence

Former President Megawati Soekarnoputri did not attend the invitation.
