Princess Beatrix Visits Petting Zoo
Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands was recently spotted at a petting zoo in Amsterdam, participating in the annual volunteer campaign NLdoet of the Orange Fund. The visit took place on March 13, 2026.
Volunteer Work and Public Engagement
The Princess actively engaged in work at the petting zoo as part of NLdoet, a national day of volunteering in the Netherlands. Images from the event show her interacting with animals, specifically feeding a lamb.
Past Visits to Petting Zoos
This isn’t the first time Princess Beatrix has shown an interest in petting zoos. In 1969, she opened a petting zoo in the Bio Rehabilitation Centre in Arnhem, Gelderland, sounding a bell to mark the occasion. Historical photos document her involvement in the opening of this facility. She similarly visited the Bio Rehabilitation Centre in Arnhem on June 24, 1969. Additional images from that visit are available.
