Paris Saint-Germain Prepares Extension for Injured Kvaratskhelia
Paris Saint-Germain is advancing contract renewal talks with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, intending to make the injured winger one of the club’s highest-paid players with a deal extending to 2032, according to a report by transfermarkt.de citing French outlet RMC. The proposed contract bypasses any hesitation regarding the serious injury the 25-year-old recently sustained, positioning the Georgian international alongside top earners Marquinhos and Achraf Hakimi. Both currently earn approximately 1.1 million euros gross per month, while Ousmane Dembélé leads the squad at 1.5 million euros gross monthly. Kvaratskhelia already features among the club’s top ten earners with a monthly salary of 900,000 euros.
Trophy Impact and Record Transfer Valuation
Since arriving at the Parc des Princes from Napoli in January 2025, Kvaratskhelia has helped secure two Champions League titles for the French club, as documented by transfermarkt.de. Across 27 matches in Europe’s premier competition, he has contributed 13 goals and 9 assists. During the most recent Champions League campaign, he led all players with 17 goal involvements, surpassing Kylian Mbappé and Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane, who both recorded 16. His initial 80 million euro transfer fee established him as the most expensive Georgian footballer in history, while his current market value stands at 140 million euros, placing him among the ten most valuable players globally.
Injury Disruption and Support from Cristiano Ronaldo
Kvaratskhelia sustained his injury during a Champions League fixture against FC Barcelona that ended in a 4:2 victory. Following the match, the player addressed his supporters on Instagram, expressing disbelief over the timing of the setback after rigorous preparation. The reaction drew widespread public support, including an encouraging message from global star Cristiano Ronaldo. I know this feeling, Kvara,
Ronaldo stated, urging the winger to maintain his momentum through the difficult recovery period.
