Quang Ngai Province Boosts Science, Technology, and Digital Transformation with New Steering Committee

Quang Ngai province in Vietnam has established a Steering Committee dedicated to accelerating the implementation of Resolution 57-NQ/TW, which focuses on science and technology development, innovation, and digital transformation. Steering Committee Structure and Responsibilities

The Steering Committee is led by Mr. Nguyen Tan Liem, Director of the Department of Science and Technology. Its membership includes the Deputy Directors of the Department, who also head various departments and units under his direct leadership. This structure ensures comprehensive and coordinated efforts across all relevant areas of provincial management.

The Committee’s core responsibilities include:

• Researching, advising, and proposing measures to the Director of the Ministry to direct and coordinate the implementation of policies, strategies, mechanisms, and solutions related to Resolution 57-NQ/TW.
• Providing feedback on significant provincial programs, projects, and plans concerning science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.
• Developing guidelines, plans, and action programs to support these initiatives.
• Monitoring, summarizing, and communicating the results of assigned tasks to the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People’s Committee, and the Steering Committee itself.

Key Focus Areas

The Steering Committee will prioritize several key tasks, including:

• Promoting the “Digital Literacy Movement” among citizens.
• Enhancing the role of community digital teams.
• Identifying priority development axes for each sector and locality to foster rapid and sustainable growth.

Dedicated Units for Efficient Implementation

To ensure smooth advisory, coordination, and implementation, three units have been designated as permanent members of the Steering Committee:

• Department of Science and Innovation Management
• Department of Posts and Telecommunications and Digital Transformation
• Department of Technology and Specialized Management

Members of the Steering Committee will serve on a part-time basis.
