Quebec Launches Fall 2026 Respiratory Vaccine Campaign

Quebec health officials launched the fall 2026 vaccination campaign targeting influenza, COVID-19, and the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) to build protection ahead of the winter holiday season. Eligible residents can now book appointments as health authorities anticipate an earlier start to the flu season and increased circulation of respiratory viruses in the coming months.

The province recommends free flu and COVID-19 immunizations for individuals aged 65 and older, pregnant women, and people with chronic health conditions such as diabetes, heart, lung, or kidney disease, and weakened immune systems. Specific client groups also qualify for the RSV vaccine. Health providers can administer shots for all three viruses during a single clinic visit when clinically appropriate.

Public Health Officials Urge High-Risk Groups to Book Early

Dr. Caroline Quach-Thanh, directrice nationale de santé publique, emphasized the importance of early immunization in a press release.

For the persons most at risk of developing complications, vaccination remains one of the best means to protect oneself against the most serious consequences of these infections, Dr. Quach-Thanh stated. She encouraged eligible individuals to receive their vaccines this autumn to secure protection before the holidays and during peak transmission periods.

The provincial government set a target to vaccinate at least 8 out of 10 individuals within high-risk populations against influenza, COVID-19, and RSV during this campaign.

Local Appointment and Clinic Details

Residents in the region can schedule appointments through the provincial Clic Santé platform or by calling 1 833 519-4741. Local vaccinations are administered at the designated service point located at 455, boulevard Saint-Joseph, according to details provided by the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux.
