Josh Homme has shaped the band’s upcoming album, Perfecth, around songs originally written in 2013 with Dave Grohl.
Album Creation and Japanese Kintsugi Art Inspiration
The nine-track record draws its conceptual style from kintsugi, the traditional Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold. Homme stated that the reason these specific tracks took more than a decade to finalize is that he was previously unequipped to finish them. Production duties were shared between Homme and band member Michael Shuman, with recording sessions spanning multiple locations from New Orleans to Los Angeles.
Release Schedule and Final Single Debut
Matador Records will release Perfecth on Friday, October 30. The rollout includes four pre-release singles, beginning with “Where the Goth Girls At?”, “Insignificant Other”, and “Easy Street”. A final track titled “Run Away From the Mob” arrives just days before the full album hits stores.

“Run Away From the Mob” utilizes an acoustic guitar arrangement paired with a subdued drum beat and falsetto vocals from Homme. The instrumentation remains restrained until the final minute of the track, diverging from the heavier volume typically associated with the band. Homme described the closing song as a final message directed to his oldest son, characterizing the conclusion as the sound of a father standing behind his child.
