Radford Men’s Golf Ties for Fourth at Southern Intercollegiate

ATHENS, Ga. – The Radford University men’s golf team concluded play at the Southern Intercollegiate on Monday, achieving their highest finish of the spring season with a tie for fourth place. The tournament, hosted by Georgia at the Athens Country Club, saw strong individual performances from Louie Stott and CJ Peterson.

Tournament Overview

Due to inclement weather, the tournament employed a shotgun start, with Louie Stott beginning his round on the back nine. Radford finished with a total score of 754 (+34) over two rounds.

Individual Performances

Louie Stott led the Highlanders, finishing in 13th place overall with a score of 219 (+6). Stott had a remarkable first round, carding four birdies on the back nine and two more on the front, including a birdie on the 16th hole. While his second round wasn’t as strong, he remained the team leader.

Freshman CJ Peterson finished close behind Stott in 16th place with a score of 220 (+7). Peterson demonstrated consistency throughout the tournament, with an even score on the front nine of the first round and three birdies overall.

Kieran McCarthy secured 21st place with a score of 216 (+8), highlighted by an eagle on the par-five 479-yard hole in the first round and another birdie on the same hole in the second round.

Will Giaquinto finished 40th overall with a score of 215 (+13), recording four birdies across both rounds. Tate Corbett rounded out Radford’s scorers in 56th place with a score of 217 (+16), achieving one birdie during the tournament.
