Ralph Barbosa to Star in Hulu Animated Series ‘Swap Meet’
Comedian Ralph Barbosa is set to executive produce and star in Swap Meet, a half-hour animated comedy series in development at Hulu. The series, from writer and executive producer Isaac Gonzalez, is being produced by Sony Pictures Television and 20th Television Animation, with Sony Pictures Television leading the production Deadline.
About Swap Meet
Swap Meet centers around a down-on-his-luck Ralph Barbosa, who works alongside the Cortez family – his aunt’s “brash, proudly blue-collar Mexican American family” – at the Eastgate Swap Meet. The Eastgate Swap Meet is described as a “delightfully low-rent retail paradise” offering an infinite array of goods, and services.
Creative Team and Production
In addition to Barbosa and Gonzalez, Blake Griffin, Ryan Kalil, and Noah Weinstein will also serve as executive producers for Mortal Media. Barbosa’s previous work with Hulu includes his stand-up special, Ralph Barbosa: Planet Bosa, released in August 2025 Deadline.

Ralph Barbosa gained prominence after a viral moment involving comedian George Lopez and a breakout set on Don’t Tell Comedy. He followed up with the Netflix special Cowabunga, which ranked as the #3 TV show on Netflix during its first week in October 2023 Deadline. He also collaborated with Gwen La Roka on the Max comedy special, Entre Nos: The Winners 3, and has a Comedy Central Stand-Up Featuring set with 7 million views on YouTube Deadline.
Isaac Gonzalez’s Background
Isaac Gonzalez is a Mexican-American comedy writer and producer with experience in both animation and live-action. His animation credits include Victor &. Valentino, Legends of Chamberlain Heights, and Seth MacFarlane’s Bordertown. In live-action, he has written and produced for HBO Max’s The Gordita Chronicles and Netflix’s Mr. Iglesias Deadline.
