Rambervillers Strengthens Blood and Plasma Donation Efforts Through New Partnership

Rambervillers, France – A new partnership agreement signed on February 18, 2026, aims to bolster blood and plasma donation efforts in the Rambervillers region. The collaboration brings together the City of Rambervillers, the Community of Communes of the Rambervillers Region, the French Blood Establishment Grand Est, and the Association of Volunteer Blood Donors.

Collaboration to Increase Donations

Mayor Claude Bourdon, Bertrand Choley (vice-president of the Community of Communes), Nelly Garat (president of the Association of Volunteer Blood Donors of Rambervillers and the Departmental Union for Blood Donation in the Vosges), and Doctor Christophe Brullard (responsible for samples 54/55/88) formalized the agreement at a meeting held at the Town Hall. The primary objective is to increase blood and plasma donations by improving the resources available in the region. Claude Bourdon was elected mayor in April 2024 and is leading the city’s involvement in this initiative.

Key Components of the Partnership

The partnership will focus on several key areas:

  • Facilitating Collections: Providing free reception areas and improved signage to enhance the visibility of donation sites.
  • Strengthening Communication: Integrating blood donation awareness into municipal and intercommunal communications.
  • Increasing Promotion: Encouraging the presence of the French Blood Establishment and the Association of Volunteer Blood Donors at local events, including civic and public health initiatives.
  • Plasma Donation Access: Establishing shuttle services to the Nancy Donation House to improve access to plasma donation opportunities.

The Role of the Association of Volunteer Blood Donors

The Association of Volunteer Blood Donors of Rambervillers will play a crucial role in the partnership. The association is already actively involved in promoting blood donation through school outreach programs, informational materials, and providing refreshments to donors during collection events. Rambervillers is a commune in the Vosges department in Grand Est, northeastern France, with a population of 5,018 as of 2023. The town is located 22.9 km northeast of Épinal.

Through this collaborative effort, the partners aim to establish blood and plasma donation as a sustainable part of community life and emphasize the importance of individual contributions to saving lives.
