At the Busan Invect-Connect Festival (BIC) 2026 on August 14, indie game publisher Red Brick House showcased its upcoming publishing title, Void Diver: Escape from the Abyss, drawing attention with an on-the-ground marketing approach that featured executives and developers’ family members in full cosplay.
Void Diver Makes First Offline Appearance Ahead of Early Access
According to a report by Electronic Times reporter Park Jeong-eun, the Red Brick House booth at the Busan BEXCO venue placed Void Diver: Escape from the Abyss front and center for its first direct offline meeting with players ahead of its scheduled second-half early access release. Studio Nemo, a subsidiary of Road Completeness (Roadcomplete), developed the 2.5D pixel-art-based extraction RPG, which combines the survival-and-loot mechanics of the extraction genre with pixel graphics and role-playing elements.
Instead of hiring a large external promotional staff, Red Brick House and Studio Nemo leaned into grassroots community engagement. Red Brick House and Studio Nemo executives, alongside the development project director’s family members, dressed in character costumes to greet visitors at the booth. Characters brought to life through these employee and family-led costumed performances included Elara, Gayoung, and Owner, according to Electronic Times.
Global Interest and Latest Demo Version
The game has already built significant momentum online prior to its physical showcase. Following an initial demo release on Steam in January and an appearance at the Steam Next Fest in June, Void Diver surpassed 200,000 wishlists from international users, as reported by Electronic Times. At BIC 2026, the publisher provided attendees with an updated playable demo covering the tutorial up to Chapter 2.

To incentivize player participation on-site, the booth hosted photo events with the costumed characters alongside stamp rallies tied to game trials. Electronic Times noted that these daily activities rewarded the first 200 participants with branded tarpaulin bags.
Publisher Growth and Future Plans
For Red Brick House, BIC 2026 marks a milestone as the first major offline consumer touchpoint for the company since its founding. Co-CEOs Kim Hyeok-jin and Hong Ji-chul previously managed indie game discovery, investment, and publishing at Neowiz. The startup has since expanded its business foundation by securing strategic investments from Wemade Max alongside financial backing from Kakao Ventures and Devsisters Ventures.

Red Brick House positions itself as a specialized indie publisher supporting partner studios from initial development through investment, publishing, and global expansion. Co-CEOs Kim Hyeok-jin and Hong Ji-chul stated via Electronic Times that user feedback gathered at the Busan festival will directly inform upcoming service refinements and development updates for the early access launch.
