Riccardo Carta has signed with Esperia Cagliari ahead of the upcoming Serie B Interregionale basketball season, according to club announcements. Standing 203 centimeters tall and weighing 95 kilograms, the 2003-born forward from Thiene strengthens the Granata roster following a series of player confirmations and new additions.
Carta developed his early career through the youth sectors of Vicenza and Virtus Bologna before moving to the Pallacanestro Reggiana academy. During his time with Reggiana, he competed in the Next Gen Cup—the Legabasket competition reserved for Under 20 teams of Serie A clubs—and earned appearances in the Serie A1 top flight. Following his development years, Carta gained senior experience across Italy’s Serie B division, playing for Virtus Imola, Crema, Fabriano, Agrigento, and Orzinuovi.
