See you on Wednesday for the tests in Bahrain

F1 is preparing to hold its first test session in Bahrain from Wednesday 11th to Friday 13th February. Mercedes and Ferrari were the most convincing in the Barcelona Shakedownwith Red Bull certainly able to derive satisfaction from the mileage guaranteed by the power unit made in-house with the help of Ford.

The Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur he declared that in Catalonia the Scuderia di Maranello has completed the entire planned program and that in Bahrain the picture will be more representative in terms of performance.

According to Juan Pablo Montoya, Mercedes could have lapped 3-4 seconds faster at Montmelò. There are teams more or less ‘used’ to revealing their cards or not during tests, at least this is the thought of Damon Hill: “Ferrari usually pushes in tests, I don’t know if it’s because of the pressure the Scuderia is always subjected to – said the 1996 world champion, guest of the podcast Stay on Trackinstead Red Bull is often good at hiding its true potential. In the past there were real specialists in taking the lead in testing, such as Arrows team principal Tom Walkinshaw or Eddie Jordan. In the tests they ‘fired’ tempos for the sponsors and then when we started racing they returned to anonymity, I never understood what sense there was in making figures like that.”
