Rey Mysterio’s Daughter, Aalyah, Embarks on Wrestling Training

The Mysterio wrestling legacy continues to expand as Rey Mysterio’s daughter, Aalyah Gutierrez, has begun training to become a professional wrestler. Following in the footsteps of her brother, Dominik Mysterio, Aalyah is pursuing a career in the squared circle, with the full support of the WWE Hall of Famer.

A Natural in the Ring

Rey Mysterio revealed on Cody Rhodes’ “What Do You Wanna Talk About?” podcast that Aalyah’s interest in wrestling grew after graduating from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) with a degree in human biology in June 2025. She requested to begin training, and Mysterio arranged for her to experience the WWE Performance Center in Orlando.

“She went in there on a Wednesday with me and I was like, ‘There’s no way.’ Like, this is your first time stepping in the ring. She had a connection with just positioning. Hitting the ropes. Like that is scary, crazy,” Mysterio shared. [Wrestling Inc.] He was impressed by her natural aptitude, noting her immediate understanding of ring positioning and movement.

Further Training and Family Legacy

Aalyah’s training extends beyond the WWE Performance Center. She has also received instruction at TJ Wilson and Natalya’s wrestling school, known as The Dungeon. [VICE] This demonstrates her commitment to developing her skills and pursuing a professional wrestling career.
