Rider University Women’s Soccer Names Bethie Morgan and Courtney Carter as 2026 Captains
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Rider University women’s soccer team has announced that Bethie Morgan and Courtney Carter will serve as team captains for the 2026 season, marking the second consecutive year both players will hold the leadership position. The announcement was made by Head Coach Drayson Hounsome.

“It is great that Bethie and Courtney have been selected by their teammates to lead RUWS for a 2nd consecutive year,” said Hounsome. “They did an outstanding job last season under very challenging circumstances and everyone has full confidence in them both as leaders.”
Courtney Carter’s Background
Courtney Carter, a back with jersey number 19, has demonstrated consistent performance for the Broncs. In 2024, she was honored as a MAAC All-Academic Team member and started all 17 games, accumulating 1,380 minutes of play. She also played a full 90 minutes in 11 of those games. Carter’s Journey to Rider
Carter committed to Rider University while attending Phoenix High School in Latest York. She is believed to be the first player in Phoenix High School program history to commit to a Division I women’s soccer team. Carter visited the Rider campus in Lawrence Township, New Jersey, and was drawn to the campus atmosphere and the team dynamic. NNY360
Rider Women’s Soccer Program
Rider Women’s Soccer has a strong track record, reaching the MAAC Tournament in nine consecutive years under Coach Hounsome. While the team finished with a 5-10-2 record in the previous fall season, they have consistently achieved winning records in prior seasons. MSN
