Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn Set to Collide at WWE Crown Jewel

Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn Collide in Riyadh

World champions Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn collide in the main event of WWE Crown Jewel on Saturday at the ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. CBS Sports reported that more than a ceremonial title is at stake as the two superstars unearth years of Bloodline baggage. Reigns brings the World Heavyweight Championship into the bout, while Zayn defends the Undisputed WWE Championship. The card marks the ninth premium live event of WWE’s 2026 schedule, airing live globally on Netflix and through the ESPN App with an ESPN Unlimited plan in the United States.

The rivalry stretches back years to when Reigns brought Zayn into The Bloodline before Zayn turned his back on The Tribal Chief to target the WWE title. Zayn nearly dethroned Reigns at Elimination Chamber in 2023 in front of his hometown crowd in Montreal, though WWE ultimately pivoted to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania two months later. According to CBS Sports expert analysis, Zayn is projected to avenge that loss in Riyadh, as Reigns does not put his heavyweight title on the line and can afford the defeat. ESPN noted that outside factions such as the 946 could get involved, laying the foundation for a larger faction war leading into Survivor Series: WarGames.

Liv Morgan Defends Against Chelsea Green

Liv Morgan puts the Women’s World Championship on the line against Champion Chelsea Green in the women’s champion-versus-champion showcase. Green secured her main roster status by winning a five-woman ladder match at SummerSlam, rising from interim status to full champion. USA Today notes that the Crown Jewel Championship was introduced in 2024 as a best-of-the-prize, with Rhodes and Morgan winning the inaugural trophies, followed by Seth Rollins and Stephanie Vaquer in 2025. CBS Sports analysts predict Morgan will retain her edge with help from The Judgment Day, while Green looks to pull off the biggest win of her singles career.

Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton Settle Differences in Last Man Standing Match

Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton bring their long-running feud to a head in a Last Man Standing match. The rivalry reignited during WrestleMania season in April after Orton delivered a vicious punt to Rhodes. ESPN panel previews point out that the match carries a stipulation implying finality, offering Rhodes a chance to carry winning momentum into a new program. Bleacher Report noted that WWE has invested heavily in Rhodes as a top star, making it unlikely he falls to his former mentor a second time.

Bron Breakker and Austin Theory Face Penta and Je’Von Evans

The Vision members Bron Breakker and Austin Theory defend the World Tag Team Championship against Penta and Je’Von Evans. CBS Sports highlighted that Breakker and Theory won the belts on July 6 and have not defended them a single time on television or at a premium live event. Penta also carries the Money in the Bank briefcase, introducing a wild card element to the night’s broader storylines. ESPN and CBS analysts suggest that giving Penta and Evans the titles keeps Penta busy while allowing Breakker to transition toward singles opportunities.
