A Champion’s Access, A Golfer’s Desire

McIlroy’s access to premier golf courses is unparalleled. He holds a lifetime invitation to Augusta National Golf Club after his 2023 Masters win and enjoys privileges at Seminole Golf Club, thanks to his father’s membership. He is also a member at The Bear’s Club in Florida, Queenwood Golf Club outside London, and the R&A. However, this doesn’t diminish his desire to play other iconic courses.

McIlroy recently shared his golfing aspirations in an interview with Kevin Van Valkenburg of The Fried Egg, highlighting several courses he’s eager to play. Among them:

• New South Wales Golf Club (Australia): Ranked 46th on GOLF’s Top 100 Courses in the World, McIlroy described the Alister MacKenzie design as “really cool.”
• Fishers Island Club: The famously private Seth Raynor design located where Long Island Sound meets the Atlantic.
• Chicago Golf Club: McIlroy expressed a desire to experience this American course.
• Pasatiempo Golf Club: Another American destination on McIlroy’s list.
• Waterville Golf Links (Ireland): Despite being from Ireland, McIlroy has yet to play this notable course.
• Bandon Dunes: McIlroy hopes to visit this popular destination golf resort.

Recent Success at Seminole

Rory and Gerry McIlroy recently secured victory at the Seminole Pro-Member tournament in Juno Beach, Florida, on March 5, 2026, with a nine-under 63. This win placed them two shots ahead of Rickie Fowler and Buddy Marucci. Gerry McIlroy acknowledged that Rory largely carried their team to victory, shooting a back-nine 29. Gerry McIlroy stated, “I suppose I helped on one hole. What was I going to do?”
