Juicy Love Dion and Kenya Pleaser’s Rivalry Highlights Season 18 of RuPaul’s Drag Race

Heading into the 12th episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 18, six queens remained in the competition. Kenya Pleaser’s run came to an complete after a fourth bottom placement, falling victim to Juicy Love Dion in a Lip Sync for Your Life battle. Meanwhile, Darlene Mitchell secured her first maxi challenge win, and Jane Don’t extended her record-breaking streak to 10 consecutive weeks with a top placement.

A Western-Themed Week and Drag Family Resemblance

Episode 12, titled “Mammas, Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Drag Queens,” featured a Western theme. The queens began with a quick drag challenge, racing on inflatable horses, which Discord Addams won. The main challenge involved pairing with six “queer cowboys” to create drag family looks.

Discord Addams, as the mini-challenge winner, selected her partner and assigned pairings for the other queens. The pairings were: Discord and Colton, Jane Don’t and Terry, Myki Meeks and Michael, Darlene Mitchell and Chris, Nini Coco and Jason, and Juicy Love Dion and Greg.

Challenge Insights and Runway Critiques

The queens navigated the challenge, with some finding inspiration in their partners and others facing difficulties with transformations and garment adjustments. RuPaul engaged with the cowboys, learning about their experiences and perspectives on gender expression.

The runway category, “Drag Family Resemblance,” saw mixed reactions from the judges. Myki Meeks and Morgan Meeks were declared the winners for their cohesive look. Nini and Patsy Coco’s bug-themed costumes confused the panel, while Juicy and Loosey Love Dion were praised for their stylistic harmony. Jane and Maybe Don’t received criticism for a lack of cohesion, and Discord and Harmony Addams were deemed unsuccessful in their transformation.

A Fourth Lip Sync for Kenya Pleaser

Jane Don’t was in the bottom for the first time this season but was saved. The bottom two consisted of Discord Addams and Nini Coco. In a Lip Sync for Your Life to Ariana Grande’s “We can’t be friends (wait for your love),” Nini Coco ultimately prevailed, sending Discord Addams home.

Kenya Pleaser, who had previously lip-synced for her life three times this season, was eliminated in a prior episode by Juicy Love Dion, earning Dion the title of “lip sync assassin.” Kenya Pleaser described herself as a “lip-sync survivor” after her elimination.

The six queens still competing for the crown on Season 18 are Darlene Mitchell, Discord Addams, Jane Don’t, Juicy Love Dion, Myki Meeks, and Nini Coco.
