Bisnis.comJAKARTA — Rupiah exchange rate against the US dollar it is estimated that it will fluctuate but has the opportunity to close higher in the range of IDR 16,760-IDR 16,800 in today’s trading, Tuesday (10/2/2026).
Based on Bloomberg data, the rupiah closed up 0.42% to Rp. 16,805 per US dollar on Monday (9/2/2026). At the same time, the US dollar index weakened 0.19% to 97.44.
Director of Traze Andalan Futures, Ibrahim Assuaibi, explained that the performance of the rupiah against the US dollar today cannot be separated from conditions at home and abroad. Abroad, the US and Iran said that nuclear talks would continue after positive discussions held last Friday.
Ibrahim assessed that this message helped calm fears that a military conflict in the Middle East would soon occur, especially after Washington deployed several warships to the region earlier this year.
Additionally, concerns over conflict have led markets to assign a greater risk premium to oil. Moreover, Trump also threatened military action against Iran. However, Ibrahim assesses that the possibility of war in the Middle East is small.
The market focus this week is also considered to be the release of important economic data from the world’s largest oil consumer. In the US, non-agricultural payroll data for January will be released this week, while CPI index data will be released on Friday.
Meanwhile in China, January CPI data will be released at the weekend, providing further clues about the world’s largest oil importer. The data was released just before China entered the Chinese New Year holiday.
From within the country, Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa is said to estimate that 2026 tax revenues will exceed the target in the APBN. Purbaya estimates this even though the base for growth in tax revenues last year was quite low.
Apart from that, the latest Consumer Confidence Index (IKK) also shows an increase of 3.5 points to 127 points in January 2026. This IKK level is considered to be the highest in the last year or since January 2025.
In line with these sentiments, Ibrahim projects that for trading today, Tuesday (10/2/2026), the rupiah exchange rate will fluctuate with a tendency to strengthen in the range of IDR 16,760 to IDR 16,800 per US dollar.
