Russia Launches Extensive Drone attack on Ukraine, Causing Damage and Injuries
Ukraine came under a large-scale drone attack on January 11, 2026, with Russia launching 154 drones across multiple regions. According to official reports, Ukrainian forces successfully intercepted 22 drones in 18 locations, though debris from the attacks fell in two additional areas.
The majority of the drones utilized in the assault, approximately 110, were identified as Shahed-type attack drones. This barrage targeted critical infrastructure, resulting in significant disruptions and casualties.
In the Zhytomyr region, a strike on critical infrastructure ignited fires and led to injuries for two individuals, as confirmed by regional authorities. Concurrently,parts of the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions experienced temporary power outages.Local officials are currently working to restore electricity supply to affected areas.
Further east, Kharkiv’s Sloboda district was struck by a “Molnija” drone, impacting an infrastructure object, according to Mayor Ihor Terekhov. The extent of the damage is still being assessed.
