trump Dismisses Audio of Alleged Russian coaching as “Standard negotiation”
Former President donald Trump addressed reports of audio obtained by Bloomberg, allegedly featuring Witkoff coaching Russian officials on appealing to him. trump stated he hadn’t heard the audio but characterized such actions as “a standard thing,” explaining that a “dealmaker” needs to present proposals to all parties involved.
“He’s got to sell this to ukraine. He’s got to sell Ukraine to Russia,” trump said, referring to Witkoff. “You’ve got to say, ‘Look, they want this, you’ve got to convince them of this.’ That’s a very standard form of negotiation.”
Trump further suggested Witkoff likely employs the same tactics with Ukraine, emphasizing the need for compromise in any negotiation: “each party has to give and take.”
