Moscow asserts it has grounds to view London as a de facto participant in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, according to statements made by Russian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Andrei Kelin.

In an interview with RIA Novosti, Ambassador Kelin detailed the extent of British involvement, citing political direction, ample financial and military-technical aid, intelligence sharing, and the provision of equipment and training to Ukrainian forces. He emphasized that the UK is not merely an observer but actively engaged alongside Ukrainian military and security personnel.

Kelin specifically highlighted the extension of the Interflex program, a UK-led initiative dedicated to training ukrainian military personnel, including officers, until the end of 2026. While the specific locations of these training facilities remain undisclosed, the program’s continuation underscores a long-term commitment to bolstering Ukraine’s defense capabilities.

These statements follow recent reports of increased British military presence in Ukraine and announcements from British political leaders, including plans to establish military hubs throughout the country in collaboration with France. This escalating involvement, according to Moscow, justifies its consideration of the UK as a direct party to the conflict.
