Spanish soprano Ruth Iniesta will conclude her 2025–2026 season on July 31 by starring in Emilio Arrieta’s lyric drama Marina at the Rossini in Wildbad Belcanto Opera Festival in Germany, according to festival announcements. The performance takes place at the Kurhaus of Bad Wildbad under the musical direction of conductor José Miguel Pérez-Sierra.

Organizers confirm that the festival run will also include a live commercial recording of the work for future release.

Originally premiered in Madrid in 1855 as a two-act zarzuela before the composer expanded it into a three-act opera, Marina remains a foundational piece of 19th-century Spanish lyric theater. Founded in 1989 to mark Gioachino Rossini’s historical stay in the Black Forest spa town, the Rossini in Wildbad festival specializes in recovering rarely performed titles, uncovering new vocal talent, and producing audio and video recordings.

Ruth Iniesta’s Upcoming International Schedule

The role of Marina caps a busy season for the soprano, which included her debut at the Royal Opera House in London performing the role of Musetta in Giacomo Puccini’s La bohème. Looking ahead to the 2026–2027 season, Iniesta’s calendar features a return to the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia to sing Micaela in Georges Bizet’s Carmen.

According to scheduling announcements from the artist’s upcoming engagements, she will also return to the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid, alongside international debuts and returns at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo and the Gran Teatro La Fenice in Venice.
