Ruud Reitan and Majorov Sensational Olympic Final

Milla Ruud Reitan and Nikolaj Majorov tonight made a sensational effort in the rhythmic dance in Milan. In a tough starting field, they delivered a strong and energetic performance that was rewarded with 67.31 points and 19th place. With this, the pair took one of the 20 final places – and thus writes a new chapter in Swedish figure skating history.

– It feels completely unreal and fantastic! We went out and did exactly what we could and the fact that it was enough all the way to the Olympic final makes us incredibly proud. We have enjoyed every second on the ice and are just so grateful to be standing here now, say Milla and Nikolaj.

The result is further proof of the couple’s rapid development since the investment in ice dancing began in the spring of 2023. In less than three years, they have gone from a completely new constellation to establishing themselves internationally, with European Championship finals, World Cup qualification and now also an Olympic final place – a historic moment for Swedish ice dancing.

– It’s a fantastic performance. It’s a little hard to take in that in such a short time they went from a new pair to the Olympic final. Now we will land a little and then recharge for the final on Wednesday, says Anna Burwall, sports manager at the Swedish Figure Skating Association.
