Ryanair and Aer Lingus Lag in Customer Satisfaction, Jet2 Tops Rankings

Dublin, Ireland – February 27, 2026 – Ryanair and Aer Lingus have received unfavorable ratings in the latest customer satisfaction survey of airlines, according to a report published today by Which? Magazine. Ryanair finished last among short-haul carriers, while Aer Lingus was ranked lowest in the long-haul category.

Short-Haul Airlines: Jet2 Leads, Ryanair Trails

Jet2.com emerged as the top-rated short-haul airline, praised for its reliability and fewer last-minute flight cancellations. Ryanair received a total score of 55%, earning two stars out of five for its booking process, boarding, customer service, and cabin environment, and a single star for seat comfort.

Wizz Air also performed poorly, scoring 59% overall with two stars in most categories. Despite its low scores across the board, Ryanair achieved three stars in the value for money category, though this was lower than Jet2.com, Lufthansa, TUI, and Aer Lingus.

Aer Lingus scored 71% in the short-haul category, placing it in the middle of the pack. Jet2’s success was attributed to its reliability and strong performance in booking process, customer service, and value for money, receiving four stars in each of those areas.

Long-Haul Rankings: Singapore Airlines Takes the Crown

Singapore Airlines topped the long-haul rankings with a customer score of 81%, earning five stars for its cabin environment and customer service. Aer Lingus’s long-haul division received a score of 65%, with only two stars for seat comfort and cabin environment.

However, Aer Lingus did achieve three stars for value for money, customer service, booking process, boarding process, food, and drink.

Airline Responses

Ryanair dismissed the Which? survey as “made-up manufactured surveys” and “fake results,” stating that its 208 million passengers do not pay attention to such reports.

An Aer Lingus spokesperson noted that the survey related to a small number of customers traveling on long-haul services from its Manchester base, which is scheduled to close soon. The airline also highlighted its highest-ever customer satisfaction scores achieved in 2025 and its position as the most punctual carrier at Dublin Airport.

Birmingham Airport Disruptions

Separately, Birmingham Airport in the UK is experiencing significant disruptions due to a runway closure following a light aircraft incident, impacting flights operated by Aer Lingus, Ryanair, and Jet2.
