Samsung Galaxy A37 and A57: What to Expect from the Novel Mid-Range Phones

Samsung is poised to expand its smartphone lineup with the upcoming Galaxy A37 and A57 models, aiming to deliver value-packed options for consumers who don’t require the premium features of the flagship Galaxy S26 series. While details are still emerging, recent leaks and certifications provide a glimpse into what these new mid-range devices might offer.

Galaxy A57: Incremental Updates and Enhanced Connectivity

The Galaxy A57 is expected to maintain a similar design to its predecessor, the Galaxy A56, with dimensions remaining largely unchanged. Key specifications include a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, featuring an integrated fingerprint reader and a 12MP front-facing camera with an f/2.2 aperture.

Color options for the A57 are anticipated to include grey, light blue, purple, and green. The rear camera setup will consist of a triple-lens array:

  • 50MP Main Lens
  • 12MP Ultra-Wide Lens
  • 5MP Macro Lens

Notably, a telephoto lens is not expected to be included. A significant upgrade for the A57 will be the implementation of the Exynos 1680 chipset, bringing improved performance and more modern connectivity options, including Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 6.0. Support for eSIM is also anticipated. The phone will be available in 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB memory configurations, without expandable storage.

The battery capacity is expected to remain at 5,000 mAh with 45W charging support, despite a slimmer profile of 6.9mm and a reduced weight of 182 grams. IP68 water and dust resistance is also expected to be retained.

Galaxy A37: A More Affordable Option

The Galaxy A37 is positioned as the more budget-friendly option, with fewer expected changes compared to the previous generation. The design will be similar to the A57, but with slightly thicker bezels around the display. The display specifications are projected to mirror those of the A57, and the camera resolution is also expected to be similar, though potential sensor differences may exist.

The A37 will likely be powered by the Exynos 1480 chipset, previously featured in the Galaxy A55. Battery capacity will remain at 5,000 mAh with 45W charging support. Available memory configurations will include 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB, without expandable storage.

Color options for the A37 are expected to include grey, grey-green, lavender, and white. The phone is projected to maintain a thickness of 7.4mm, with a slight weight increase to 183 grams.

Software and Pricing

Both the Galaxy A37 and A57 will launch with Android 16 and Samsung’s One UI 8.5, but will not include the full suite of Galaxy AI features found on the flagship S26 series.

Expected European pricing is as follows:

  • Galaxy A37:
    • 6GB/128GB: €439 (approximately $475 USD)
    • 8GB/256GB: €539 (approximately $585 USD)
  • Galaxy A57:
    • 8GB/128GB: €539 (approximately $585 USD)
    • 8GB/256GB: €609 (approximately $660 USD)

These prices represent a slight increase compared to the current models, despite the limited generational changes.
