SAN JOSE, Calif. – Aaron Anthony Ocampo, 24, of Morgan Hill, has been arrested in connection with a double homicide that occurred in downtown San Jose during Super Bowl weekend, authorities announced on Tuesday, March 23, 2026. The shooting, which took place on February 8, 2026, resulted in the deaths of two men.
Details of the Arrest and Investigation
Ocampo self-surrendered to detectives on March 22, 2026, and was subsequently booked into the Santa Clara County Jail, according to the San Jose Police Department statement. He was initially booked on suspicion of homicide but was later released pending further investigation. Detectives then obtained a warrant for his arrest on suspicion of manslaughter.
The Shooting
Officers responded to reports of gunfire around 2:20 a.m. On February 8 in the 100 block of Paseo de San Antonio. Upon arrival, they discovered two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims as reported by KTVU.
