US, UK, and Australia Impose Sanctions on russian Cybercrime Supporters

Teh US, UK and Australian governments have designated seven Russian-based organizations and five individuals with additional sanctions for supporting cybercrime.

The US Treasury’s Office of Foreign assets Control (OFAC) announced these joint sanctions together with the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Commonwealth Advancement Office (FCDO) under the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office on the 19th local time.

‘Media Land’,which was subject to sanctions,is a company headquartered in St. Petersburg, Russia, and has been providing ‘bulletproof hosting’ services to ransomware organizations.

Bulletproof hosting refers to providing special server space so that cybercriminals can use it and avoid crackdowns.

Three of Media Land’s subsidiaries and three Media Land executives were also included in the sanctions.
