The Critics Choice Association (CCA) has announced the nominations for the sixth annual Critics Choice Super Awards, highlighting a broad spectrum of science fiction, fantasy, horror, and superhero storytelling. The awards, which recognize excellence in genre-based film and television, place films like "Superman" and series like "The Boys" at the forefront of this year’s competition.
Leading Nominees in Film and Television
The superhero epic "Superman," directed by James Gunn, leads the film categories with six nominations. The film is recognized in major categories including Best Superhero Movie, with individual acting nominations for David Corenswet, Nicholas Hoult, and Rachel Brosnahan.

Several other high-profile projects follow with four nominations each:
- The Astronaut – Project Hail Mary: Includes a nomination for Sandra Hüller in the Best Actress in a Science Fiction/Fantasy Film category.
- Masters of the Universe: A contender across multiple technical and performance categories.
- The Fantastic Four: First Steps: A standout in the superhero genre.
- Weapons: A significant presence in the horror category.
- Obsession: Recognized as a top horror contender.
In the television landscape, Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys dominates with five nominations, including a nod for Best Superhero Series.
Sandra Hüller’s Role in Project Hail Mary
German actress Sandra Hüller, internationally recognized for her performance in Anatomy of a Fall, has secured a nomination for her role as a mission-leading scientist in the upcoming science fiction film The Astronaut – Project Hail Mary. Hüller is competing in the Best Actress in a Science Fiction/Fantasy Film category. Her co-star, Ryan Gosling, who portrays a science teacher tasked with a critical space mission to save humanity, is also among the nominees. The film is directed by the duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller.

The Critics Choice Super Awards are presented by the Critics Choice Association (CCA), an organization comprising more than 500 film and television critics across the United States and Canada.
The winners across more than 25 categories for both film and television are scheduled to be announced on August 6 via an official press release.
