Sarah Ferguson attended the funeral of racing driver Paddy McNally at St Paul’s Knightsbridge, marking the first time she has been seen since April.
Wearing a blue lace jacket, the former Duchess of York arrived at the church to pay her respects to the family friend and businessman.
The appearance follows her being photographed at a ski station in the Austrian Alps in April. Before that, her most recent official public outing took place at Westminster Cathedral in September 2025 for the funeral of the Duchess of Kent. She was also photographed in December 2025 attending the christening of her granddaughter Athena from the rear of a vehicle.
Ferguson and her former husband, former Prince Andrew, were required to leave Royal Lodge by King Charles following their connection to the Jeffrey Epstein scandal. While Epstein’s published files included emails between Ferguson and the late financier, she has not been accused of any crime regarding the matter.
Following her departure from the Windsor estate where she lived for more than 30 years after her divorce, Ferguson relocated to a six-bedroom rental property in the Home Counties. Her spokesperson told Hello! and People magazines that she is currently focused on unpacking decades of belongings.
In these moments she is focused on the present and has no major plans beyond her health, her family and rebuilding her life in a new home,
her representative stated.
Tabloid speculation regarding a return to social engagements remains unfounded, according to her spokesperson. Her time is instead occupied with sorting boxes accumulated over 40 years and spending time with her growing family.
Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank welcomed their daughter, Adelaida, on August 3, adding a new granddaughter to the family. Her spokesperson noted that Ferguson maintains a supportive dynamic with her former husband regarding their children and grandchildren, stating that they maintain a cordial and mutual support relationship as parents and grandparents.
