North Wake Martial Arts Athletes Compete on Global Stage

Several athletes from North Wake Martial Arts in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, have been selected to compete in international events, showcasing the growing talent within the martial arts community. The gym, formerly known as LDP Martial Arts, offers training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Taekwon Do, Kickboxing, Mixed Martial Arts, and Self Defense for all ages and skill levels.

Athletes Selected for Competition

A total of 23 athletes from Saskatchewan have been chosen to represent the province, including several from North Wake Martial Arts. These athletes include Jerome Littlespruce, Kaleece Kytwayhat from Makwa Sagihchan First Nation, Russ Paskemin, Aiden Fox, and Keetan Antoine from Sweet Grass First Nation, Christian Pete from Little Pine First Nation, Harrison Diebel and TJ Hoogsteen from North Battleford, Tyrrique Lemaigre from La Loche and Lorenzo Celis from Regina.

Lorenzo Le’s Kickboxing Journey

Lorenzo Le, a North Wake Martial Arts athlete, recently competed in a tournament in Alberta, finishing in second place. Le, who is relatively new to the sport, developed a passion for kickboxing after being a lifelong fan of contact sports, particularly the UFC. He expressed excitement about traveling to Thailand for competition, anticipating minimal cultural adjustment due to his Vietnamese heritage and previous visits to the country.

North Wake Martial Arts: A Growing Hub

North Wake Martial Arts provides classes for youth (ages 5-10 and 11+), and adults (ages 16+). Youth classes include Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Kickboxing, Taekwon Do, and Mixed Martial Arts. Junior classes (ages 11+) also offer Self Defense training for teens aged 13 and up.
