Sean “Diddy” Combs has been transferred from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey to FCI Allenwood Low in Pennsylvania, according to reports. The relocation follows a period in which Combs was placed in the prison’s special housing unit and reports of a head injury.
Why Was Sean “Diddy” Combs Transferred to Pennsylvania?
An individual acquainted with the situation informed the Associated Press that Combs, 56, was relocated by the US Bureau of Prisons from FCI Fort Dix to FCI Allenwood Low, which is a low-security institution located about 155 miles (250km) west of New York City and south of Williamsport. Following his 2 July 2025 guilty verdict for prostitution-related offenses involving the interstate transportation of individuals for sexual encounters, Combs spent time at the New Jersey facility serving a sentence of four years and two months.
According to NBC News coverage from September, Combs possessed a forbidden cell phone, had other prisoners make his bed, clean, cook, and provide massages, and smuggled in Hennessy cognac. Following these reports, Combs was placed in the prison’s special housing unit.
What Happened During the Hospital Transfer on October 10?
Early on the morning of Saturday, October 10, Combs was transported out of FCI Fort Dix to a nearby hospital after sustaining a head injury, according to reports. PEOPLE received confirmation from sources that Combs had been transported to a medical facility, with the added note that his condition was not perilous to his life.
The Bureau of Prisons refuted a report that Combs was injured in a fight with another inmate, telling the AP: “The story you are referring to is false and did not happen.” Combs was returned to prison later that day.

How Did the Disciplinary Infractions Affect His Release Date?
As a consequence of disciplinary issues, Combs has been docked 41 days of good-conduct credit, pushing his release date back to 2 March 2028.
Arguments regarding Combs’s bid to overturn his conviction and punishment—which legal counsel contended were excessively severe—were heard in April by the second US circuit court of appeals. The court has yet to rule.

What Do Representatives Say About the Transfer?
Juda Engelmayer, a spokesperson for Combs, addressed the inmate relocation and reports in statements to the press. Regarding the transfer to FCI Allenwood Low, Engelmayer stated: “decisions about inmate placement are made by the BOP, and we are not in a position to speak to the circumstances surrounding this transfer”.
“Sean remains focused on moving forward, and we hope that his time at the new facility will be productive and without unnecessary disruption,” Engelmayer said. Regarding the hospital visit earlier in the month, Engelmayer said: “We are aware of the reports concerning Sean Combs and are working to confirm the circumstances,” adding, “Sean’s health and well-being are our immediate concern, and we appreciate everyone who has reached out.”
