On January 1, 2026, an experiment began on voluntary insurance of self-employed citizens in case of temporary disability.
It is reported that under the program, payers of professional income tax will be able to enjoy the right to paid sick leave.
It is noted that in order to obtain the right to temporary disability benefits, a self-employed person must register with the Social Fund.
It is clarified that in order to receive sick leave, it is necessary to pay contributions, monthly or one-time for the entire year. The insurance premium rate is set at 3.84% of the insured amount.
A self-employed person can choose the size of the insurance amount: 35 thousand or 50 thousand rubles. The higher of the two amounts, accordingly, increases payments when illness occurs. You need to transfer 1,344 or 1,920 rubles per month (3.84% of 35 thousand or 50 thousand rubles). When paid once a year, the contribution is 16,128 or 23,040 rubles (the amount of monthly payments for 12 months).”
“The ongoing experiment applies only to the receipt of sick pay by self-employed people and does not apply to maternity benefits, which are due, for example, during maternity leave or parental leave for children under 1.5 years old,” clarified the OSFR for the Republic of Adygea.
