U.S. Senator Dan Sullivan’s re-election campaign spent nearly $35,000 on out-of-state dining since March, according to Federal Election Commission filings reviewed by The Daily Mail. The spending comes as the Alaska Republican faces a competitive general election against Mary Peltola.
Campaign Spending Outpaces In-State Outlays
According to Federal Election Commission records highlighted by The Daily Mail, Sullivan’s campaign directed close to $35,000 toward restaurants outside Alaska since the start of March. During the second fiscal quarter, the campaign spent roughly $28,000 on food overall. That figure marks roughly four times the amount the campaign spent on dining inside Alaska during the same period, per the filings reported by The Daily Mail.

Among the out-of-state expenditures, Sullivan’s campaign steered more than $7,000 to Lucille’s Modern Chophouse, a Washington steakhouse. According to reporting by The Daily Mail, the restaurant has not yet opened its doors, but the senator’s campaign has nevertheless accumulated over $13,000 in spending at the venue since September 2025. Additional filings cited by The Daily Mail show repeat visits to established Washington establishments, including the members-only 116 Club and the French restaurant Bistro Cacao.
Resort Events and Political Action Committees
Sullivan’s political action committees also logged high-end expenditures. According to The Daily Mail, the Sullivan Victory political action committee put nearly $27,500 toward an event held at The Phoenician, a resort in Scottsdale, Arizona. In addition, the filings reveal that Sullivan took a trip to a California resort where the reality television series “The Bachelorette” was filmed.

The disclosures arrive as residents in Alaska contend with high costs of living. According to data reported by The Daily Mail, a gallon of gasoline in Alaska averaged $4.83, sitting above the national figure. Meanwhile, grocery prices in Juneau topped the national average by nearly 28 percent last year.
Political Reactions and General Election Context
Alaska Democratic Party Chairman Eric Croft criticized the spending in comments to The Daily Mail, stating, “Dan Sullivan will always put himself and his special interest backers above Alaskans.”
