Serang Regency PPPK Teachers to Receive Additional Incentives from BOS Funds

Thousands of government employees with part-time function agreements (PPPK) in Serang Regency, Banten, are set to receive additional financial incentives, supplementing their existing honorariums. These incentives will be sourced from the School Operational Assistance Fund (BOS), following recent regulatory changes allowing for the use of BOS funds for this purpose.

Regional Government Support for Educators

The policy change is part of a broader effort by the Serang Regency government to improve the welfare of teachers, particularly those with PPPK status. According to Abidin Nasyar, Head of the Elementary School Development Division at the Serang Regency Education and Culture Service, the initiative reflects the commitment of Regent Ratu Rachmatuzakiyah to supporting educators.

“This is a form of the Regent’s concern for teachers and education staff. She wants to ensure that educators, especially those who still have part-time PPPK status, still receive support so they can work more calmly,” said Abidin on March 12, 2026.

Incentive Amounts and Funding Sources

The amount of the additional incentive will vary depending on the financial capacity of each school, as the funds are drawn from their respective BOS allocations. However, the incentive value could reach approximately IDR 2,130,000, in addition to the current honorarium provided by the Serang Regency Government.

Currently, the district government provides an honorarium of around IDR 1 million per month for school operators and approximately IDR 1.2 million for the 3,587 part-time PPPK teaching staff.

Program Timeline and Future Plans

The additional incentive policy is scheduled to be implemented throughout the 2026 fiscal year. The regional government plans to conduct periodic evaluations to assess the program’s effectiveness and explore opportunities for its continuation and potential expansion.

“The hope is that this program can continue. If possible, in the future we will encourage this policy to become a more permanent program to support the welfare of teachers in Serang Regency,” Abidin concluded.
