Vernon Timm, 70, lost his battle with cancer on Nov. 6, 2026, Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services reported. Born March 8, 1956, to Virgil and Agnes Timm, he graduated from New Richmond High School in 1974.
Timm married Susan Olson after graduation, welcoming children Vincent, Jessica and Jonathan, and later married Sandra Ista, with whom he had Samantha. He worked in welding and factory jobs and spent his free time on cars, woodworking and the outdoors.
Survived by Wife, Children and Extended Family
Timm is survived by his wife, Sandra; children Jessica, Jonathan (Chuck Prissel) and Samantha; grandchildren Hunter Childs and Abbi Connors; sisters Donna Timm, Diane Tainter, Debbie (Gary) Bauermeister and Dixie (Paul) Erickson; mother-in-law Marie Ista; sisters-in-law Sue (Don) Amundson and Sally Ista; aunts Pat Piechel, Mary (Barney) Krattley, Loretta Larson and Audrey Larson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his son Vincent; parents Virgil and Agnes Timm; father-in-law Wayne Ista; grandparents Vilas and Mildred Timm and William and Agnes Phillips; aunt Carol Colbeth; and uncles Frank Piechel, Leroy Larson and Mike Larson.
Celebration of Life Set for Nov. 14 in New Richmond
A celebration of life will take place Saturday, Nov. 14, 2026, at 3 p.m. at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services, 728 S. Knowles Ave., New Richmond, Wisconsin, with visitation starting at 2 p.m. The service will be livestreamed, and attendees are asked to dress casually per Timm’s wishes.
Vernon Timm’s Work and Hobbies
Timm worked at Blanco, Ideal Door, Federal Foam and K-Tek. He raced at Cedar Lake Speedway and other area tracks, rebuilt motors, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, ice fishing and motorcycle rides. He also specialized in woodworking, particularly intarsia designs, and small engine repair.
