ServiceNow has invested $40 million in BusinessNext, an Indian banking software specialist, valuing the Noida-based firm at $700 million and acquiring a roughly 5% stake. According to company announcements, the strategic partnership aims to combine ServiceNow’s enterprise workflow automation with BusinessNext’s customer-facing banking platform to accelerate global expansion in AI-driven financial services.

Strategic Investment and Valuation Details

The $40 million injection values BusinessNext significantly higher than its previous private market valuations. According to private market intelligence platform Tracxn data cited in reports, the 24-year-old firm was valued at $181 million in 2021 after raising over $60 million in external funding from existing investors including Avataar Ventures, Norwest Venture Partners, and Ascent Capital. Founder and CEO Nishant Singh stated in interviews that the company chose ServiceNow over potential financial investors to gain access to the U.S. software group’s global sales network and infrastructure.

Global Footprint and Banking Clientele

BusinessNext currently generates approximately $32 million in annual revenue, with about half of that total coming from markets outside India. The profitable company serves more than 70 banks across India, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and the United States. Its high-profile client roster includes the Reserve Bank of India, State Bank of India, and HDFC Bank. According to Singh, overseas markets will drive much of the company’s future growth as it leverages ServiceNow’s go-to-market machinery to scale its international presence.

AI Integration in Autonomous Banking Workflows

Founded in 2002 and formerly known as CRMNext until 2022, the company rebuilt its software stack around an autonomous banking platform. Singh explained that AI was embedded into the platform’s core from the outset rather than added as an afterthought. The system utilizes AI agents to automate routine banking tasks while storing sensitive customer data on private AI infrastructure to comply with strict regulatory and privacy requirements. ServiceNow’s group vice president and managing director for India and SAARC, Kulmeet Bawa, noted that financial institutions are shifting rapidly from digital experimentation to full-scale AI operations, making the combination of back-office workflow automation and front-office banking expertise timely for the sector.
