Sheffield Comic Arts Fair (SCARF) Announces Inaugural Event Line-Up
Sheffield will welcome a new indie comics event this October with the debut of the Sheffield Comic Arts Fair (SCARF). Organized by writer, letterer, and editor Chris Mole, SCARF aims to provide a platform for independent and small press creators, fostering a diverse and inclusive space for both artists and attendees.
A Focus on Indie Comics and Community
SCARF was born from a desire to fill a gap in Sheffield’s comics scene. According to organizer Chris Mole, the city already hosts larger comic-con events, but lacked a dedicated fair specifically for indie creators. “We have a large ‘comic-con’ event at the arena but nothing that I could see for creators at the indie level, which is where some of the most exciting and powerful function is done,” Mole explained in a statement. The fair will prioritize showcasing independent comics and cultivating a welcoming environment for all.
Event Details
The first SCARF will take place on October 10th, 2026, at Trafalgar Warehouse (120 Trafalgar St, Sheffield City Centre, S1 4JT). Trafalgar Warehouse offers a unique event space blending industrial charm with modern versatility. The event will feature approximately 38 exhibitor tables. Admission to SCARF will be free for the public.
