(G)I-DLE’s Shuhua Lands Lead Role in Greater China Film ‘Happy and Fun Days’
Shuhua, a member of the South Korean girl group (G)I-DLE, is set to make her screen debut as the lead in the upcoming Greater China film, Happy and Fun Days. Cube Entertainment announced the casting on March 26, 2026, marking a significant step in Shuhua’s career beyond music.
About ‘Happy and Fun Days’
Happy and Fun Days, directed by Fengai Fiona Lone, centers around the story of two sisters with contrasting personalities whose lives are unexpectedly altered by the arrival of a stray cat. Shuhua will portray Lin Jia-chi (林家琪), the younger sister, described as innocent, and whose perspective on life evolves through her connection with the animal.
Shuhua’s Perspective on Her Role
Shuhua expressed her enthusiasm for the project, stating her desire to showcase a different side of herself as an actress and to surprise her fans. She noted the similarities between her own personality and Lin Jia-chi’s cheerful and emotional nature, while also acknowledging the challenge of portraying the character’s anxieties about the future. “I will convey it well at my own pace,” she added.
Director Fengai Fiona Lone’s Acclaim
Director Fengai Fiona Lone has received critical recognition for her work, including the Fresh Director Award, the International Critics Association Award, and the Audience Award at the Golden Horse Awards for her film, ‘American Girl.’
(G)I-DLE’s Current Activities
(G)I-DLE is currently on their 4th world tour, ‘Syncopation.’ Upcoming tour dates include performances in Australia in May, Singapore, Yokohama, and Hong Kong in June, and major cities across North America in August. The group is also scheduled to perform at Lollapalooza in Grant Park, Chicago, USA on July 31st (local time).
